Why did you choose to go to the Prep?
I chose the Prep because I wanted to be challenged by my teachers on a daily basis. In grade school, I found that learning wasn’t really as exciting because I wasn’t challenged to think differently or explore new ideas. Here at the Prep, I have definitely been challenged in more ways than I could have imagined, and that’s one of the reasons I am happy I chose to go here.
What activities are you involved in here at the Prep? How has being involved in those activities affected your life so far?
As a student at the Prep I am involved in many activities outside of school, one of which being a student manager for the basketball team. Being involved in this activity has affected my life because I have had the opportunity to work with Coach Speedy Morris who has taught so much about the game of basketball and life in general. Getting a chance to know him has been an amazing experience. I am also on the leadership board of the Black and Latino Culture Club, which is one of my favorite activities because it’s a place where I always feel comfortable and can openly express my ideas and viewpoints. I have met some of my closest friends through this club and I’m really happy to be a part of it.
